USE CASES — GLAMPING & ECO STAY
Glamping yurts for eco stays & holiday accommodation
Year-round glamping yurts built for Irish weather. Wool-insulated, wood-stove-warm and quietly beautiful — the kind of accommodation guests book once and tell their friends about.
A guest experience that sells itself
Glamping operators are a big part of who we build for. Our yurts give you a unit guests photograph the moment they arrive.
Unlike a static caravan or a flat-pack pod, a yurt has a story. It looks at home in a woodland clearing or a coastal field. Guests come for the building as much as the location, which is why most glamping operators we work with see strong repeat bookings.
We’ve worked with sites from Mayo to West Cork, from single-yurt B&Bs to commercial glamping resorts.
Yurts go up in one day, sit on a low timber platform, and can be moved to a new spot in a future season if your site evolves. Most of our glamping customers fit the standard 5m or 6m yurt with a wood stove, double glazed window and timber door — a fully sealed, insulated unit you can rent through winter.
Why a yurt earns its keep on a glamping site
A few of the operational reasons our yurts work for accommodation businesses.
Bookable in shoulder seasons
Sheep's wool insulation + wood stove = a yurt you can rent in October, November and into spring. Most operators see 30-40% more occupancy than equivalent uninsulated structures.
Photographs beautifully
The circular silhouette, exposed roof beams and canvas glow at dusk make for outstanding listing photos — the single biggest factor in glamping conversion rates.
Low ground impact
Yurts sit on a removable timber platform with no foundations. Minimal disturbance to ground, easy to relocate, no concrete pour required.
Built to last
Sustainably sourced timber frame, water-proof Regentex canvas, sheep’s wool insulation. With basic care our yurts will last for many years.
Standard glamping sizes
A guide to picking the right size for your site. Most operators run a mix of 5m and 6m yurts.
5 metre
Double or twin for 2 guests+
Compact and cosy — bed, small wardrobe, wood stove and a couch. Ideal price-point unit for couples and short stays. Can fit a day bed or camp bed/cot.
6 metre — most popular
King bed + sofa or extra bed for 2-4 guests.
The flagship glamping size. Comfortable for couples, romantic enough for honeymoons, big enough for a small family. The size most operators standardise on.
7 metre
Family glamping for up to 6 guests.
Room for a king + 2 bunk beds, or three doubles. Good for family bookings and groups — often used as the premium unit on multi-yurt sites.

Common questions
Can the yurt be used for paid bookings year-round?
Yes. With our sheep’s wool insulation, double glazing and an installed wood-burning stove, our glamping operators rent through every month of the year.
Do I need planning permission?
For commercial glamping use you usually need either planning or a commercial unit certificate, depending on your county.
How does it compare to a glamping pod or shepherd's hut?
Yurts have a much stronger visual identity and a better feeling of space inside. Pods are quicker to scale but tend to age faster and feel more like static accommodation. Most operators tell us yurts get the higher nightly rate.
How long does installation take?
One day per standard yurt for the structure. Add more days if you’re installing platforms, electrics or running stove flues through canvas. We coordinate everything and leave the site clean.
What’s the typical cost?
For a 6m commercial-ready glamping yurt with insulation, double glazed windows and timber door, our yurts land in the €14,000–€16,000 range. Use the quote builder for a live breakdown.
